Since the start of the school year, I have been inundated with complaints regarding Triton traffic (usually at the end of the school day) speeding on Birch Lane. The traffic is using Birch Lane as a cut-through from School Street to Central Street. As a result, within the next few days, the School Street end of Birch Lane will be posted “Do Not Enter - Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.” Hopefully this will curb the exiting traffic from cutting through Birch Lane. Police will be monitoring traffic at that time to enforce this new posting.
Please refrain from using Birch Lane as a cut-through at any time, as it is thickly settled and small children are frequently playing outside. I will also try to get something put into the newspaper regarding this posting.
