The following is a timeline of events for the FY08 Budget Development Process.
  • Ongoing: The Budget is becoming a regular item on the monthly School Committee Meeting agendas. These discussions at School Committee meetings guide our focus and priorities for establishing an Operating Budget.

 

  • Fall, 2006: District Administrative Council (Central Office Admin. and building Principals) discuss our district priorities and establish our goals collectively. Each building principal has the opportunity to present their school's needs to the team as each school site has its own unique areas of focus as designated by the principal and staff.

 

 

 

  • Wednesday, January 10, 2007: High School Library: 2:30 Secondary, 3:30 Elementary: Staff Budget Forums: This will be the same information/presentation as the Community Budget Forums but will be our opportunity for dialogue within the Staff/Faculty.

 

  • December 7, 2006 through February 6, 2007: District Administrative Council meets regularly to generate and formalize an initial budget for presentation to the school committee.

 

  • Wednesday, January 24th, 2007: Initial Budget Presentation to the School Committee.

 

  • Wednesday, February 7th, 2007: School Committee Meeting - Budget Deliberation and Tentative Budget Approval

 

  • Wednesday, March 7th, 2007: School Committee Meeting - Public Hearing on the FY08 Budget.

 

  • Wednesday, March 14th: School Committee meeting - The School Committee will take a Final Vote to approve a budget to send to the three member communities for an up or down vote at each Town Meeting.

 

  • April/May: Annual Town Meetings w/vote to approve/not approve funding for FY2008 Budget.
